So Mike left Saturday morning and Lee arrived Sunday morning. A quick change of sheets and towels and we are back in business. This week we have reservations at Tradevo, Brunilda, Desacato, Petit Comité, and El Traga before we leave for Madrid for a weekend with Megan & Christian...
So Lee arrived early in the afternoon. He and Phil spent the later afternoon walking by the river. The city was strange today. It was the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. For some reason this meant that none of the holiday street lights were lit and all of the bikes were removed from the shared bike racks in the plazas and even more strange to us- all the outdoor dining tables were removed from the plazas. We headed to Tradevo for dinner, our dinner was indoors (it's quite chilly today - 52*F when we left for dinner). We had good service once again. Ordered favorites and added a few new. The berenjenas (eggplant) were terrific. The arroz was again quite the standout. We tried the ribeye - excellent flavor. The aguacate canelón was refreshing and a perfect starter. Had the tacos again - still good. A good wine to go with the meal. A stop at MITO on the way home for a change. The start of a great week.
The next night we did La Brunilda. Another night of holiday lights and dining fun with Lee. My favorites of Queso Costeño, risotto, tacos de cerdo, and the salmon were still my favorites. A few streets of holiday lights (which weren't on last night due to the Holy Day) for Lee to start his viewing of the splendor of Sevilla's light show. Each night we head in a different direction for dinners so many variations on the lighting themes.
