I'm off and arrived

My "last supper" for Chicago time, this year. Not Phil's favorite. But I love the burritos here ❣️❣️

I got the junior chorizo burrito; and he got the king carne asada burrito. It's clean and quick and since our final "Sunday bagel brunch" didn't happen until about 2:30... it wasn't like we were starving

The next day I was off to the airport to head home to Sevilla,

"Ready to push back" - LOL that was what I wrote and then we sat for another 45 minutes at the gate just pushed away so they could allege an on time departure...

However the flight was almost perfect and other than nort having any map- for the whole entire fight  (not just me- the whole plane) it was really not bad. We took off two hours late but arrived only one hour late. Had some amazingly good (for airplane food) meal selections- a nice shrimp salad starter

perfectly cooked bacalao- and beans- really incredible - in can be done!

chocolate ice cream- what's not to like?

breakfast was good - waffles with cherry compote and caramel sauce

Cute Salt & Pepper dispensers - after Velasquez.

Two photos of coming into Madrid

After a rather horrid lfight to SVQ from Madrid I got home and started the slog of unpaking the three suitcases full of STUFF that I had sherpa'd over here. Fell into bed around 2:30 AM on Wednesday and was awoken by the 7:50 AM alarm for my trip to the police station for my empadron renewal. A beautiful morning of what will be a 98* day so I wanted to go early. Photos of the morning sun on the way to the Triana district police station where one registers for the empadron.

Victory on Day two, third trip to the Sede (police regrsitration process! I was in and out before my 9:12 appointment and now am in posession of the document I need. I wanted to stop at the carrefour on the way home but it was't yet 10 AM so it wasn't open yet. I went later and was back by 11AM! It is going to be 100* plus here today so I don't plan on leaving home tonight.  Got a couple of salads and some yogurt and rolls etc.  I won't starve before I get to the grocery on Friday or Saturday... leaving Sunday for a few dyas in Ávila. more to follow.

Day Two- I was early to the station and so I stopped for coffee and to sort my papers.

this was the wall tile on the area next to the nice lady's desk - how fun would it be to look at cats dancing all day!

Back to the chores of getting settled in. And packing for my short trip - Sunday to Thursday...
