first maritime museum

As I mentioned we head off on the morning of our first full day of the 2017 DART trip to the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum  (GEM in AAA).  First we had a leisurely breakfast with Donna (from the Uzbekistan trip who just happens to live in Easton, MD nearby...)

From the gift shop ticket office we headed to the boat shop where a guy was working on---- his cat! LOL

seven pile (screwpile) lighthouse of a classic design for these parts -

light house interiors and displays-

one of the "boats" in the yard - no water under this one-

on to a display of crab picking-

then a waterfowl exhibit-

and the gift shop!

and on the way out - a lady of the sea- mast head known as Liberty

the map of the entire grounds-

we headed further south and stopped along the way in a terrific pizza and pasta place in Cambridge, MD

TB ordered the mac and cheese with smoked brisket -

and I got the incredibly fab crab pizza - which we both agreed won hands down in the lunch ordering contest- LOL - it was soooo good-

so off we went down another road and peninsula to the end and the water.... stay tuned because before night falls we will have seen furry ponies and walked on the Board Walk in Ocean City...
