on to April!

On April Fool's DAY  Phil went to see the Wednesday market but I was tired after a bad night's sleep so I skipped it and did a bit of laundry an spend the afteroon reading. For dinner we went to a place called Brasserie La Lanterne. A smallish dinner so we could binge on the ice cream sundaes. Completely worth it. An excellent burger and P said the duck breast with roquefort sauce was good too.

Have never been a big fan of pink, but THIS chair has me rethinking that position.  Sure would love to use this as a centerpiece of decorating for a fabulously lavish bedroom. The "sister chair" in the window was a bit more circumspect but could also launch a terrific decor for a conservatory or ladies "retreat" sitting room. In another life I'd have been a designer. On Thursady we finally got to the pizza place down the steps from us for lunch. We are totally unaccustomed ot the schedule here of clsoing the lunch hours at 2 PM = tthat's when our restaurants in Sevilla are just opening and hitting their stride (unless they cater to tourists)...

Thursday night - we had  the "Best" meal in Sarlat at Aux 3 Sens. A number of menus to choose from.  I chose the Plaisir and Phil chose the 3 Sens. Loved my asparagus, the hollandaise was a perfect balance of butter and lemon. Phil was enamoured of his chocolate and truffle dessert. The wine was an excellent choice by the somm Patric. The service was impeccable. Head and shoulders above our other fine meals here. Worth returning to.

Lunch on Friday at a cute place down the main street. I had the charcuterie board and Phil had - you guessed it - the duck. He had the chocolate pie but shared it with me. It was very good! On the way back to our apartment we saw this very cute dog for sale in the doorway of the store where I saw the fabulous pink chair earlier!

as we were leaving France we saw his hippo brother in our hotel room in Toulouse!

but back to Sarlat- The walk home and dinner Friday night. I had the trout and Phil the filet. I had a gravlax starter and he had foie gras. Our desserts were the creme brulée for me and apple tart for P. Wisteria is starting to give off a scent as its blooms begin to open!

Our last lunch (Saturday) this trip to Sarlat. While busier than it has been on prior trips, the town is still extremely charming and is as beautiful as ever. It may be overrun during season, but we did not have crowds anywhere during Easter week. We return to our very favorite place to have our final lunch. Aux 3 Sens. I had the Omelette and Phil had the three courses marked on the menu.

After lunch we headed back to Toulouse for our Sunday flight. a dessert focused dinner at the hotel in Toulouse. The burgers were very good too. We both chose those and a dessert.   On Sunday (Easter) we had a lunch nearby before heading to airpoert land and then home to Sevilla.  Arriving late afternoon hopefully having missed the worst of the crowds during Semana Santa.

We flew over Andorra and the Pyrenees on the way home. Grabed a cab and were in our place by about 6:45! So back to the home base this week, and by Friday we will have Megan and Christian and Frank visiting through the weekend! Should be fun! Stay tuned!
