Ahoy!

So our afternoon in Duluth was taken up with a sight seeing trip on Lake Superior and of the working harbor of the Duluth-Superior twin cities.... we chose the Vista Fleet 3:30 PM departure so we could be on board for the warmest part of the day.  First the trip went under the Aerial Lift Bridge, past the lighthouses and out into Lake Superior.  Then the boat returned to the giant working harbor that lies between Duluth MN and Superior WI...  a lot of BIG stuff there-

into the working port-

we returned to port and went back to the hotel for a bit before our dinner at the 100 year old Pickwick - overlooking the Lake-

early to bed tonight because tomorrow morning we are up and leaving at 6 AM for mining country to visit an iron mine and a high energy physics lab and spend time in the town that is the gateway to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area (BWCA)- so keep following us and learn more as we go along....
