So now that we are waiting for our visas and passports to come back from processing, we decided to take that delayed and partially canceled trip South. In our reworked plan we went in reverse order - Sarasota, Miami, New Orleans.
We flew from Chicago to SRQ, picked up a rental car and then headed to AMOB Landside for lunch. Afterward we went for one night to a hotel in town, awaiting our VRBO check in on the following day.
On the first night we had dinner at Columbia in St Armand's Circle. We love the cava sangria there.
The second day, we ran errands- got our international driver's licenses at AAA and had lunch at South Philly (an place near our old house) as a substitute for the Star Fish because it was a rainy day - not suitable for eating dockside. We checked into our VRBO and then went to Michael's Wine Cellar to buy wine and to Publix for some basic groceries for the week.
That night we joined Jean for dinner at Rosemary and Thyme.
Friday - day time took us to Star Fish Company for lunch and Phil got to see his favorite PT in the afternoon.
On Friday night we went to dinner with Mary Ann & Gene at "indigenous" after having them over for a bottle of sparkling wine at or rental around the corner.
Saturday lunch we met up with Jim and Betty from our old street at Captain Brian's near the airport. Love that place!
Saturday night we drove up to the top of Long Boat Key for dinner at Harry's
