Our first day in Santa Cruz de Tenerife for our winter vacation. we arrived the night before and despite the car service AND Uber canceling our transfer into the city, we had an easy and much less expensive cab ride from the airport (located in the middle north part of the island.) The next morning we started with coffee and a visit to the market. We went to the central market (Our Lady of Africa) then after buying fruit for use at our rental, we headed to lunch. Then walked back through the older section of town along the river (arroyo) to our home on the Plaza Isla de Madera. Lunch and dinner photos follow.

An excellent outdoor meal - seafood centric at Mar DeNorte. Lunch with Larry on our first day in SCdT. A very nice seafood menu with exemplary service from Andreena. Menu choices shown below

Then after relaxing in the afternoon while Phil and Larry went for a walk and picked up some grocery items, we went for dinner in the old town center at Lebeche- an arroceria... Dinner with the Friedman brothers tonight. Two Arroz dishes. A tray of mixed croquettes and some torreznos. A very nice local wine. Quiet meal inside - most folks were seated outdoors but for us it felt too cool for food to stay hot once it was served. Good service and tasty meal.
so ends our first day in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. mor3e to follow because our vacation was two full weeks of relaxing and doing nothing - but we still had to eat LOL
